Our support team at Distinctive Dental Care in Bundaberg consistently ensure that each of our patients have a positive dental experience, both in and out of the dentist chair. From assisting you throughout your procedure, to reminding you of your upcoming appointments, our support team is here to ensure you are comfortable, confident and relaxed.
Oral Health Therapist/Practice Manager BOralH (UQ)
Ashleigh graduated with her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from Brisbane UQ in 2012. Prior to her study, Ashleigh worked as a dental assistant and completed her Cert III in Dental Assisting, Cert IV in Dental Radiography and has many years experience in the dental industry. Her interests in the dental field are orthodontics, preventative hygiene and paediatric care.
She is an energetic and enthusiastic part of our team. Although small in stature (and very youthful looking) don’t be fooled by this little dynamo. She loves a challenge.
In her spare time Ash and her husband love to garden (they grow much of the food they eat), they also like to up-cycle old furniture, camp and kayak. Ash is very health conscious and enjoys jogging and keeping fit; she also loves to bake ‘healthy’ treats for us all using lots of her homegrown fruits and vegetables. Ash is also a national camp oven cooking queen.
Oral Health Therapist BOralHlth (CQU)
Belinda is a long-term staff member having started as a dental assistant with Dr Philip Makepeace in 2007. Since this, Belinda has accomplished many things including completing her Cert III in Dental Assisting, Cert IV in Dental Radiography and has now completed her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy at CQ University (Adult Scope) in 2016.
Belinda’s interests in the dental field are basic restorative, preventative hygiene and periodontic care, and paediatric care.
Belinda is a very focused and dynamic member of our team. You always know when she is in the building, her bubbly personality is infectious.Belinda is a state and national champion in Archery; has learnt to fly a plane and she loves camping, fishing, 4wding, kayaking and country music.
Dental Assistant/Clinical Manager
Aimee has over five years’ experience and has been with us since 2012. She has completed her Cert III in Dental Assisting and her Cert IV in Dental Radiography.
She is like a bright little butterfly in our midst; she is always flitting everywhere wearing a smile from ear to ear.
Aimee is our ‘princess’ she loves all things girly and pretty, she used to dance as a child and still loves to keep fit, always keeping herself busy. In her spare time Aimee enjoys water sports and taking her Jet Ski out for a spin. She has two dogs that are the centre of her world.
Jo has been a dental assistant for over 20 years; working with us previously, and then re-joining our team when she returned to Bundaberg in 2009. She has completed her Cert III in Dental Assisting, Cert IV in Radiography and Cert IV in Oral Hygiene.
Jo is our rock, she is positive and inspiring, she is the ‘heart and soul’ of our practice. She nurtures everyone in our team, and every patient she meets. There is always a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. Jo is very health conscious and enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two daughters; she loves the outdoors, keeping fit and healthy, regular trips to the beach, bike rides and walking her dogs.
Emily joined our team in 2018 having no experience. She aspires to do her Cert III in Dental Assisting someday.
Emily is an easy-going soul that brings calmness and collection to the practice. She is always there to lend a hand. Emily loves spending time with her partner and step-daughter. They love the beach, friends, family and the sights of Bundaberg.
Bree joined our team in 2017 coming from a dental assisting background. She has completed her Cert III in Dental Assisting and is currently completing STEPS program at CQU with the hope of becoming an Oral Health Therapist.
Bree is all things country. She loves spending time with her horse, her dog and her chickens; she loves country music, rodeos, but can also been found at the beach or 4wding. Bree is bright and bubbly and ridiculously funny. Her infectious personality and laugh can be heard throughout the corridors.
Jes joined our team in 2014, with previous experience as a medical receptionist and a Cert III in Medical Administration. She initially started training with us as a Dental assistant, but her administration skills proved so valuable we quickly put her where she excelled as our Receptionist.
Jes can be very bubbly with easygoing nature, but she is no pushover. She is always in control and one step ahead of the rest of us. In her spare time Jes helps her husband manage their two cane farms and mothers their two children. She is a real country girl at heart, who loves camping, fishing and country music. Jes is also a passionate foodie who loves to experiment with recipes and turn them into gluten-free masterpieces.
